The disposable catheter passer is a length of malleable stainless steel tubing encasing a nylon leader. One end of the leader is a clasp designed to grasp the end of a catheter in order to lead it through the stainless steel tubing. A removable nylon handle holds the leader clasp in place when the disposable catheter passer is used for tunneling subcutaneously. A tapered nylon tip protruding from the stainless steel tubing at the opposite end of the leader assists in subcutaneous tunneling.
