Left heart vent cannulae are designed to empty the left ventricle (LV), thereby providing a clearer operative field and minimizing the possibility of air embolism and over-distention of the left ventricle during CPB surgery. Models are available for venting via the left ventricle, pulmonary artery, or aortic root. Various models are available in PVC or silicone material.
