The fixed core design has a gradually tapered core that minimizes trauma to the vessel. The movable core allows the wire softness to be adjusted manually by moving the core wire back and forth, permitting the operator to lengthen or shorten it at will. PTFE coating applied over the entire core enables free movement and a smooth sliding action. PTFE wires are available with or without heparin coating.
